General Questions
- After starting digestive enzymes and betaine with pepsin, I started getting pimples all over my body, even one on the corner of my eye. Is this normal? Some of the tiny pimples are itchy, while others are not itchy.
- Any advice on managing eczema during this program? I’m having a big flare up on my hands and am trying not to use steroid cream to control it (I assume that steroid cream isn’t recommended during the detox).
- Are high antibodies the blame for hair loss, depression, anxiety, and brain fog?
- As you detox, is it possible for symptoms to get worse and then get better?
- Do high antibodies lead to dry skin?
- Do you know of any at-home testing services for sleep apnea that are reliable? I don't want to spend thousands of dollars.
Energy
- Can I manage to have a relatively normal life without so many symptoms and lack of energy?
- I always wake up around 2-5am and sometimes I can’t go back to sleep. I’ve tried eating when I wake up, I’ve tried Ashwagandha, melatonin, magnesium and progesterone, but my body seems to resist all of it. What can I do to sleep better?
- I am exhausted, and the exhaustion progresses daily. Could this be due to adrenal fatigue?
- I had to back off of the Reset. My fatigue has been awful, and I can’t shake it no matter how much sleep I get. I work 40 hours/week, have 3 busy teenagers and my husband travels for work. How can I reduce stress with this busy lifestyle?
- I have severe fatigue. What's the thing that you recommend to combat fatigue?
- Is muscle fatigue related to adrenal issues? I always felt weak when I lifted weights and couldn’t get stronger. What about the constant overwhelmed feelings? Is that also adrenal related?
Gut
- After reading your most recent article, I think that I might have Blastocystis hominis. I have most of the GI symptoms but cannot afford testing. Are there cheaper options or would it be okay to just go ahead and try the treatment?
- Are everyone's bowel movements green during the program? It seems to make sense based on what we are eating. I just want to make sure this isn't a lack of absorption issue.
- Are light, clay colored stools a cause for concern?
- Ever since I started the supplements and diet, I’ve been extremely bloated and gassy. Is this normal?
- I am still having lots of foul smelling gas and stools. I feel like a live methane tank. Please help. Am I not digesting well or am I detoxing?
- I am struggling with constipation. What do you recommend to help with this symptom?
Pain
- How is chest pain connected to the thyroid and liver, and how can I address it? My cardiologist determined that everything was normal, except my TSH was low and my T4 was high. He determined I was taking too much levothyroxine and lowered the dose.
- How long do the side effects last? My fatigue and muscle/joint pain is getting worse. Is this from the diet? I have 46 of the toxic symptoms, so I am hoping that this Reset will help me a lot.
- I have muscle throbbing/pain and joint pain in my legs and hips. I’ve had low back issues since 2010, with fusion in 2015, which was extremely successful. I’ve always wondered if the pain is my back or a symptom of Hashimoto’s.
- I woke up this morning with a headache. I’m wondering if it’s a reaction to detoxing or if I just need to drink more water?
- I'm feeling a lot better, but still have a cramping feeling all along the back of my left leg. Before the Reset, I attributed the pain to sitting all day and a lack of exercise. Now I wonder if it's due to a potassium deficiency. How can I know for sure?

Weight
- How long should we keep going with this restricted food list? In other smoothie recipes from Rootcology there are bananas that aren’t allowed in the program?
- I have to say I feel GREAT, but I was HOPING to lose a little bit of weight. I’m never really hungry! Between the smoothies, food, maca lattes.... Am I simply eating too much of what I can eat? Or is it normal to not lose weight?
- I know this is not a weight loss program, but can I hope to lose some weight with the Reset?
- I'm really overweight. I'm usually on a gluten and dairy-free diet, and I normally eat quite healthy. That said, how do I avoid a yo-yo regain of weight after the Reset?
- Is it a full scoop of protein powder and a full scoop of Rootcology Liver Reset Powder? I'm concerned about calories!
- Is there any way to not lose weight during the Root Cause Reset or following the AIP diet?
